This is going to be funny!

My Birthday Month Contest

As you may or may not be aware, I spent my last birthday in Europe…alone. And it was refreshing, liberating, exhiliarating. Unfortunately I won’t be able to top that for this year’s birthday! :(

So to help alleviate the pain that I will not be Europe, I’m going to have a contest! I am looking for a couple who would love to have pictures but would never pay for it themselves or who can’t afford to have professional photos done. Here are the rules:

1) Nominate them by telling me why they deserve a free photo shoot. HINT: I love stories that make my cry!! Send the nomination email to

2) Send me a picture and their contact information! AND, don’t tell them they were nominated. Let me surprise them!

3) You CANNOT nominate yourself.

4) Entries must be in by March 15 in order to qualify. The top 3 stories will be posted on my blog for people to vote on. The winner will be announced on March 20 (my birthday!)

Simple right?! GO! Start nominating!

Pinterest Round Up

It’s finally starting to act like winter in Denver! We’re getting a lot of snow and the roads are pretty much iced over. So I’m hanging out indoors today watching movies and staying warm. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite things from my Pinterest boards. Let me tell you, that was much harder than I thought it would be because I wanted to put EVERYTHING up! Enough talking, here are 5 of my favorite things!

I have a serious love affair with London!

Isn’t this amazing?! I’ve taken a friendship for granted for many years and have only recently discovered that this is one of my most rewarding friendships!

Do you know how true this is for me? No serious conversations before I’ve had AT LEAST 2 cups of coffee!

I want this tattoo on my wrist in my own handwriting with a camera tattooed next to it!

Simply Me

Dear Blog -

Sometimes I feel - well, I don’t know what I feel - when people talk about their kids, husbands, families, amazing adventures on their blogs, on Facebook, on Twitter. I sometimes wonder if I will ever have those things to brag about. People probably get sick of hearing about things that I am excited about, reading about all of my 4 businesses, listening to the music I post. It seems as if everyone else gets a ton of likes on their statuses and comments on everything they post. It sometimes makes me feel less than important.

Does what I do matter? Does what I say matter? Even now, these questions plague me on a daily basis. And I don’t know how to make them stop.

But you know what? I’ve realized lately that I do matter. To people who will accept my crazy antics, my out of whack emotions, my inability to keep the house mess free, my eclectic music tastes, and my tendencies to ramble on for hours about any topic. Maybe I don’t get the interactions on social media because I’d rather be in REAL LIFE talking to people face to face. The people in my life are REAL LIFE people too. And are hardly ever on social media. Hey life, can I maybe get a mix of social media friends and REAL LIFE friends?!

I am Jessica. I am single. I’ve never been kissed and never dated. I’m almost 28 years old. I currently live with my parents. I don’t want kids. I want to travel the world. I want to be the most important person in someone’s life. I surprise people by some of my choices (like going to Europe by myself). People say I am gutsy. I watch way too much TV. I would never repeat my college experience. I am a photographer, a dreamer. I am passionate. It’s hard for me to go after what I want - because I dislike asking people to look at my product and buy from me. (I am slowly getting over it.)

This is who I am.

Life & Actions

I scrapped my other blog plans for today. Because this weekend, a life was lost unexpectedly.

Life is so short. If you are not doing everything you can to live an amazing life, start. I absolutely love Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. Please go check it out from the library. You won’t regret it and if you do, you can blame me later!

Actions speak so much louder than words. I am preaching to myself when I say this - do everything you can to help people. Simple little acts mean SO MUCH to people. Even making an offer to help means a lot. Just pay attention to opportunities because you never know who’s life you might save. Those people will remember you for a really long time and possibly for the rest of their lives.

Make it a good day and love one another!
